“Substance use disorder kills more Americans than any other disease – and yet only 1 in 10 people who need it have access to treatment”  Our team was asked to design motion graphics that reflects the serious and sad nature of this documentary. We worked with the inhouse design team and quickly a fitting overall look started to take shape.  In the animation process we used twitch effects, film damage and light leak effects to heighten the sense of fear and concern.  We also created more clean and even elements for the chapters covering the hope available through professional treatment.The show was a big hit for CBS News and ultimately found its way onto Peacock network and Paramount.
